Una questione di integrazione e consapevolezza

La violenza di genere è un fenomeno globale che colpisce milioni di donne, spesso amplificato da disuguaglianze sociali, economiche e culturali. Una dimensione spesso trascurata è il suo impatto sulle donne con disabilità. Gli spot istituzionali, fondamentali per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica, raramente includono questa categoria di persone, rendendo invisibile una realtà complessa e drammatica.

Cos’è la Violenza di Genere

La violenza di genere comprende qualsiasi forma di violenza, fisica, psicologica, sessuale o economica, rivolta contro una persona in base al suo genere. Le donne rappresentano la maggior parte delle vittime, con situazioni di vulnerabilità particolarmente gravi per quelle con disabilità, che subiscono discriminazioni multiple: come donne e come persone con disabilità.

Cause della Violenza sulle Donne con Disabilità

Le cause della violenza su questa categoria sono molteplici:

1. Isolamento sociale: le donne con disabilità spesso vivono in condizioni di isolamento, che le rende più vulnerabili agli abusi.

2. Dipendenza dai caregiver: spesso dipendono da terzi per necessità quotidiane, aumentando il rischio di violenze da parte di partner, familiari o assistenti.

3. Barriere nella denuncia: la mancanza di accessibilità ai servizi di supporto, la paura di non essere credute o di ritorsioni contribuiscono al silenzio.

Numeri e Dati sul Fenomeno

Secondo un rapporto dell’ONU del 2021, circa il 35% delle donne nel mondo ha subito una forma di violenza almeno una volta nella vita. Tra le donne con disabilità, questa percentuale sale al 50%-70%, evidenziando un rischio notevolmente maggiore. In Italia, l’Istat stima che il 36% delle donne con disabilità ha subito violenza fisica o sessuale, rispetto al 31,5% delle donne senza disabilità.

Ripercussioni Psicologiche

Gli effetti psicologici della violenza di genere sono devastanti, amplificati dalla condizione di disabilità. Depressione, ansia, disturbi post-traumatici da stress e isolamento sociale sono molto frequenti. Inoltre, le barriere comunicative e fisiche spesso impediscono alle vittime di ricevere supporto psicologico adeguato.

L’Impatto sulla Società

La mancata attenzione alla violenza sulle donne con disabilità nei messaggi istituzionali riflette un problema culturale e istituzionale: una società che ignora le sue componenti più vulnerabili perpetua disuguaglianze. L’assenza di rappresentazione negli spot istituzionali rafforza stereotipi, lasciando intendere che questa categoria non sia una priorità.

Dove il Fenomeno è più Diffuso

La violenza contro le donne con disabilità è diffusa ovunque, ma è più pronunciata in contesti caratterizzati da povertà, basso livello di istruzione e forti disuguaglianze di genere. In molti Paesi in via di sviluppo, il fenomeno è aggravato dalla mancanza di leggi adeguate e di servizi accessibili. Tuttavia, anche nelle società sviluppate, le donne con disabilità continuano a subire gravi discriminazioni e abusi.

Affrontare la violenza di genere in modo inclusivo richiede uno sforzo congiunto di istituzioni, organizzazioni non governative e società civile. È essenziale che gli spot istituzionali integrino la rappresentazione delle donne con disabilità, evidenziandone i bisogni specifici. Solo con un approccio inclusivo e mirato si potrà costruire una società più equa, in cui ogni donna, indipendentemente dalla sua condizione, possa sentirsi protetta e valorizzata.
